The purpose of this section to contact and communicate with companies and institutions in all areas of its work, both internally and externally, in order to provide employment opportunities for graduates suited to their specialties. It also aims to assist companies in seeking access to the alumni easily, and to reduce the burden of the expenses of research and recruitment advertisements. The Unit has a room for conducting the interviews with the students.
The following types of interviews are being used:
(1) By the companies or their representatives to conduct interviews in the interview room in the Unit of the Alumni.
(2) Companies to conduct interviews in private offices, especially for companies that have headquarters in Palestine or in Jordan.
(3) Conducting interviews over the phone, especially by companies that can not come to the headquarters of the graduates.
(4) Interviews utilizing video conferencing technology.
(5) Interviews via chat rooms through the use of the web camera and e-mail.
Mechanism for the selection of students for prospective employment:
(1) Representatives of companies and institutions usually visit the website of the graduates and obtain access to their CVs. They are then able to make an informed selection from the qualified candidates. Employer representatives then contact the Unit directly, and provide them with information about the prospective job opportunities.
(2) Representatives of prospective employers, that are able to visit the headquarters of the
Unit, can view students’ files and select qualified candidates that they may wish to interview.
(3) Some companies communicate with the Unit and provide it with their needs of graduates under certain conditions, where the Unit chooses a number of graduate students who meet the criteria put forth by the company.
