An Najah Alumni Association has completed 43 courses of a series of "Be Ready to Work" courses in which 40 male and female students participated from different specializations. The courses, which lasted for ten days divided into twenty training hours, included a number of trainees who have been trained by a group of specialized trainers. Those trainers were experts in areas of special skills related to the particular work field, such as how to write a CV, how to get prepared for job interviews, correspondence in English and Arabic, how to fill in job application forms, the use of a computer at work, labor law, how to organize files in archives and other related topics. The Career Unit also prepared a celebration in which certificates have been distributed among the participants. Rafe' Daraghmeh, head of the Career Unit, expressed his happiness for the interest of the students in such courses, and mentioned that registration for the 44th course is in progress and it shall start by the end of the next week. In addition to this, the number 8 of "Your Computer at Work" course is expected to begin in the next few days.
Mr. Daraghmeh also added that he is currently holding four free courses in coordination with the "Palestine Injaz" institution, three of which are titled "How to Be A Leader" and one that is titled "Work Morals". In these courses, a number of qualified trainers from the private sector are lecturing. The number of participants in the four courses has reached 160 male and female students. Moreover, each course lasts for a period of seven weeks divided into one session per week. Participants will be awarded participation certificates.
It is important to mention that the "Injaz" institution has held two courses in the field of leadership in recent days during which 45 male and female students have participated. Also, a coordination has been established with The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflicts Solving because this center has shown its interest in holding a free course in the fields of orientation for students from the Psychology and Sociology faculties. The course will be held next week in the center in Nablus .
Mr. Daraghmeh also pointed out that there is a course for Public Relations which is held in coordination with the Continuing Education Center in the University. This course is the number 16 course in which 22 male and female students are involved and it is expected to end by the middle of the next week. Daraghmeh mentioned that registration for the course number 17 is still possible with more than 15 male and female students already registered in it.
In respect to job interviews, Napco Company has held today a number of job interviews with 25 female students from Business Administration, Marketing and English Language, during which about 10 female students were selected to submit for a test next Monday which will enable the company to choose the ones who are most suitable to work in the field of Marketing.
In the field of Coordination with Institutions and Companies, a coordination has been established with a number of employee-seeking institutions, such as Bada'el Bila Hudoud institution which has declared its need for a Computer Engineer. The Fursah Company has declared its need for a science teacher and a mechanical engineer. Itqan Lab has expressed its need for a Medical Analysis employee. The Nyapolis institution requires a Computer Technology expert. The Career Unit has provided these companies with what they needed in cooperation and coordination with these institutions.
