Career Unit and Alumni Affairs conclude IELTS Courses

Date:
09/07/2014

On Wednesday 9 July 2014 An-Najah’s Career Unit and Alumni Affairs Office held a certificate ceremony to celebrate the conclusion of the IELTS preparatory courses, which were taught by Dr.Joana Knowles.

Over 60 students and staff members participated in the courses, which tackled subjects such as linguistic, conversation, reading, writing and listening skills. The courses also trained the students in the IELTS requirements.

At the end of the courses all students sat for an evaluation test similar to the IELTS exam to measure their performance.

Dr. Jawwad Fatayer, Head of the Career Unit and Alumni Affairs, thanked Dr. Knowles for her effort and thanked the students for their hard work to improve their competency and pursue their higher studies.

Dr. Knowles also commended the students’ achievements and their interest in improving their understanding and encouraged them to work hard to improve their English language skills, highlighting its importance when studying abroad.

At the end of the ceremony both Dr. Fatayer and Dr. Knowles handed out the certificates to the participants.

Notes:

-         The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an international standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers, and is one major requirement for admissions to all British universities and some European and American universities.
